22/01/08 KARIM FEATURES IN BBC STREETSTARS PROMO
Fresh off the plane from the Norway Mini tour in December '07 I made my way straight from Stansted to London's Embankment to start filming a promo for a new BBC series concept called 'Streetstars' . The idea is that they pick 'shabby', 'gritty', 'hard working' street performers (that's me by the way) randomly off the street and take them to the 'big stage'. I had a great time with the lovely crew which culminated in an afternoon's filming at The Criterion Theatre in London (perhaps I was the winner too ;) ). Go straight to the media page to see the promo video and two behind the scenes videos of filming my live performance in Theatre. Thanks for a good time and big up to the BBC crew! Assistant Producer: Camilla Cope , Director: Mat Hodgson , Project Manager: Claire Louise Cooke, Executive Producer: Gareth Williams, Creative Director: Ben Hall.

Welcome to the new website! The ship almost sank, we nearly went stir crazy but a whiff of sweet perfume brought us back and now there's only the thin bits to do. Scroll to the bottom of this page for info on how to use the site. I would like to say a HUGE thank you to David Sherwood for sailing the stormy seas and getting the site up and running!
24/10/07 KARIM WINGS BEST SINGER SONGWRITER IN GLASSWERK NEW MUSIC AWARDS 2007
Delighted to announce my win in the Best Singer/Songwriter category at this breaking talent awards ceremony, in good company alongside a host of other nationwide acts like Koopa who have had top 40 chart success.
'Thank you, I would like to say a few words' :)
The awards night was held at AKA Kings Cross and was hosted by Peter Brame of Fame Academy and Tony Right of Terrorvision/Laika Dog. They also screened my 'Perfume' music video and I sang a couple of songs at the after party. It was a cool experience, and a nice reward for some hard work! As I said in my now 'legendary' acceptance speech: "This is the second time in my life I have been given an award for my music and they have both been nice surprises. The first was for a clarinet solo when I was an eleven year old little tinkle." :)

4/09/07 PERFUME ON RADIO 6
Yo peeps! Thought you might like to know that 'Perfume' has been played a couple of times on BBC Radio 6 music, during Nemone and George Lambs' shows. Fingers crossed we'll get some more plays soon so keep your ears peeled!
HOW THIS WEBSITE AND MY ONLINE PROFILE WORKS:
Ok simple stuff first! The player in the menu bar at the bottom will automatically play you clips of every song on my debut album 'Stir Crazy'. You can stop it or skip to the next song. The links at the bottom take you through the site, and the little arrows on each page at the bottom of the text scroll up and down for you. Text which is a slightly different colour is usually a link, so run your mouse over it and find out! If you click the 'Karim Fanous' in big letters at the top of each page you will be taken back to the front page of the site. Write your email in the box on the menu bar if you want to join the mailing list.
N.B. This site works best with your browser on it's original text/content settings and at a screen resolution of at least 800 * 600 but bigger is better. If you have different text sizes and fonts set up, things may go a bit funny for ya but we'll leave you to take that risk! ;) . If you are having problems seeing all the text, then reduce your text size in your browser menu.
Between myspaces, facebooks, twitters, bebos and whatchamacallit's this whole web thing is getting a bit nutso. So this is how the internet works for me and my music:
Myspace seems to be taking over the musical world for internet artist pages. Check out myspace.com/karimfanous for the whole Karim Fanous media and music thing on one concise page, with interactive commenting etc.
Not everyone likes myspace or can access it. So that's why we like having our own website here at karimfanous.com This site will be kept update with everything important: news, gigs, info and media content etc.
What about blogs and rambles?: There is a regularly updated blog on myspace which is kept mainly for music and live perfomance related stuff. If you want extras and the whole picture of what I get up to (pranks included), music and not music, then have a look at my vox.com blog. This is where I like to ramble
Basically what it comes down to, is we hope you enjoy the website, and we hope you check out all my profiles everywhere else, that way you will get the WHOLE Karim Fanous experience!
